Centre Facts
The Duke of York’s Royal Military School was established in 1803. It was Britain’s first co-educational state-funded and state-administered school. Surrounded by 150 acres of countryside close to the stunning White Cliffs, the Duke of York’s Royal Military School had a £24.9 million refurbishment in 2014 which delivered a new sports centre, sports pitches, high-quality accommodation, teaching blocks and a performing arts centre. The core of the college is the academic building with modern and spacious classrooms and common rooms.
The school is situated just 2 miles from the centre of Dover, 1 mile from Dover Castle and 2 hours from Central London.
Accommodation
Accommodation in the school is split across 5 boarding houses. Rooms vary but range from singles to triples as well as a few larger dorms. All boarding houses are well furnished with kitchens and large common room areas.
